Agent T.S. Ferguson at Azantian Literary Agency

Before joining Azantian Literary Agency, T.S. Ferguson worked for 16 years as an editor for some of the top children’s and teen book publishers in the business, including Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, Harlequin Teen/Inkyard Press, and JIMMY Patterson Books. He has worked with New York Times bestselling and award-winning authors such as Sherman Alexie, Sara Zarr, Suzanne Selfors, Pseudonymous Bosch, Robin Talley, Hillary Monahan (writing as Eva Darrows), and Adi Alsaid.

T.S. is looking for young adult and middle grade fiction across all genres that combines high-concept, hooky stories with writing and voice that feel standout. An addicting, page-turning quality is always a plus! He has a special place in his heart for dark and edgy stories (including but not limited to horror), fairy tales, mythology, action-adventure, LGBTQ stories, graphic novels, and stories by and about under-represented voices. He is not the best fit for sports-centric stories, high sci-fi, or non-fiction.

For novel submissions:

  • Query Letter (format below)

Dear [Agent’s Last Name],

[2-3 paragraphs in the third person that tells the agent about your project in a way that showcases your writing ability and style. Think back-cover copy or the inside flap of published books.]

[1 short paragraph of relevant biographical information and/or published works (not necessary if you don’t have any)]

[closing/wrap-up sentence]


  • 1-2 page Synopsis
  • First 10 pages

For graphic novel submissions:

  • Query Letter (short introduction/pitch is fine)
  • Full Synopsis/Outline
  • First 10-20 pages of the script
  • 2-5 pages of sample art (in the same attachment) If the file is too large to attach, please provide a link to Google Drive, One Drive, an online gallery, or something similar in your query.
  • Character sketches (optional)
