The deadline for submitting for this limited 5 week Sharismar appearance is August 20th.

Sharismar Rodriguez is an Associate Art Director for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers has agreed that starting August 27th, she will be featured on (new name) ILLUSTRATOR SUNDAY and will critique an illustrator’s art work similar to “Take A Look Sunday” that was done monthly with various artist reps.

Sharismar Rodriguez is an Associate Art Director for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers where she designs and art directs children’s books for all ages, from Picture Books to Middle Grade and YA novels and Non-Fiction volumes. She started her career in children’s publishing right after obtaining her BFA in Visual Communications from Parsons School of Design.
Some of her work includes award winning and note worthy titles such as New York Times bestseller Greenglass House by Kate Milford, illustrated by Jaime Zollars; Society of Illustrators Los Angeles Illustration 50 West winner 10 Rules You Absolutely Must Not Break If You Want to Survive the School Bus by John Grandits, illustrated by Micheal Allen Austin; Maybe Something Beautiful, an ALA Notable Children’s Book recipient, by F. Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell, illustrated by Rafael Lopez; the best-selling picture book Mustache Baby by Bridget Heos, illustrated by Joy Ang.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

Please send Two or Three SEQUENTIAL illustrations (Two/three with the SAME “story/characters‎”) to:
Kathy.temean (at) gmail.com. Illustrations should be at least 500 pixels wide and your name should be in the .jpg title.

Put ILLUSTRATOR PORTFOLIO in the subject area and include a blurb about yourself that I can use to introduce you to everyone.

Sharismar will critique one submission starting on Sunday August 27th and end on the last Sunday in September on September 24th.  She will discuss many things like how you can tweak to help you sell your work, plus much more.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: August 20th.
