Laura Sassi’s MY TENDER HEART DEVOTIONS, pitched for readers ages three to six, the third book in the My Tender Heart collection, featuring 50 short poems about concrete items and concepts to prompt daily reflection about God’s presence and love followed by a short devotional, a heart moment, and an anchor verse, illustrated by Sandra Eide, to Lillian Miao at Paraclete, in a nice deal, in an exclusive submission, for publication in fall 2024, by Charlotte Wenger at Prospect Agency for the author, and by Robbin Brosterman at The Bright Group for the illustrator (world).

Jane Yolen’s RUBY FIFER MAPS HER WORLD, a STEM-focused picture book that follows a curious child who is eager to map the world around her as she captures each observation in her birthday journal, illustrated by COUNTING ON KATHERINE illustrator Dow Phumiruk, to Christy Ottaviano at Christy Ottaviano Books, for publication in winter 2025, by Elizabeth Harding at Curtis Brown for the author, and by Deborah Warren at East-West Agency for the illustrator (world).

INDUSTRY CHANGES:

Chronicle Books:

Ginee Seo, executive publishing director for children’s books, is departing the company today to “pursue a career in writing and editing and to spend more time with family.”

Chronicle’s founding children’s publisher Victoria Rock will lead the division until a successor is named.
