We are actively acquiring agented and unagented Romance fiction for our Casablanca imprint including Own Voices, marginalized voices, inclusive and diverse romances. We look for strong writers of all ethnicities, races, sexualities, gender identities, abilities and ages, who are excited about marketing their books and building their community of readers, and whose stories have something fresh to offer in the genre of Romance.

We consider all subgenres of Romance fiction, including:

  • paranormal romance
  • romantic suspense
  • contemporary romance
  • erotic romance
  • historical romance (prior to 1900 only)


  • completed manuscript at 85,000 to 100,000 words
  • we accept email submissions in WORD
  • always include a 2-3 page synopsis (including the ending)
  • if you have a track record, please include your sales history
  • what do you envision as your career arc—in other words, if readers love this book, what’s next, and next, and next?
  • please allow 8-12 weeks for response
  • no follow-up please (except agents)

A full submission should be emailed in a WORD file (agents may telephone) and should include the following:
A query letter with:

  • full author or agent contact info (name, address, phone number, email address) on every document
  • brief bio of author including previous books published (including pseudonyms), sales history (number of books sold to readers, not to publishers), awards and contests won. If you are a debut, please mention this.
  • title and word count of proposed book
  • short (2-3 paragraph) synopsis
  • a paragraph or two on further books planned in the series or otherwise
  • author’s vision for their career arc

Full synopsis

  • including actual digital word count and the ending (approx. 2 pages)

Complete manuscript in WORD

  • a header or footer on each page that includes: book title, page number, author or agent name, phone number and email address
