Karen Haas came to the Avalon Writer’s Retreat with her historical WWII manuscript and signed with agent Louise Fury at the Bent Agency! Great writer and great agent – perfect combination! CONGRATULATIONS!

CATHY GENDRON was accepted into the LA Society of Illustrator’s 56th Annual Illustration Competition with Mardi Gras in Bugland! Congratulations!

DEAR GIRL, illustrated by our Holly Hatam (featured on Illustrator Saturday) and written by Amy Krauss Rosenthal reached number 1 on the NYTIMES best seller list! 

Patrice Barton (featured on Illustrator Saturday)was recently involved in a book signing at the Lady Bird JohnsonWildflower Center in Austin TX.

LINDSAY WARD (featured on Illustrator Saturday) – CONGRATULATIONS!

Clarissa Wong at HarperCollins has acquired Lindsay Ward’s I GO! and I BUILD!, kicking off a new series for preschoolers. Aimed at young vehicle entursiasts, the books feature close-ups of unique wheels and treads for hints as to their matching vehicles. Publication is slated for summer 2019 and summer 2020, respectively; Emily van Beek of Folio Jr./Folio Literary Management brokered the deal for world rights.

Emily van Beek has been named a partner at Folio Literary Management. She heads Folio Jr., the agency’s children and teen division specializing in children’s, middle grade, and YA books, representing both authors and illustrators; she has been with Folio since 2010. CONGRATULATION, EMILY – Well Deserved!
