Picture Book Writer’s First Page Opportunity

THIS IS A HEADS UP ON A SPECIAL OPPORTUNTIY FOR PICTURE BOOK WRITERS TO GET A FIRST PAGE CRITIQUE WITH ALLI BRYDON

Next Wednesday I will post all the information about Alli and her services. In the meantime send in your First Pages if you would like a critique. I will submit them to Alli and post one critique each Wednesday from October 25th for a total of four ending on November 15th. The earlier you submit the more chance you have to be chosen. Deadline October 31st.

If you want take advantage of the opportunity with October’s Feature Agent – Jennifer March Soloway and the October first page critique, you will still need to submit your first page using the link to the regular First Page Monthly Submission Guidelines. So picture book writes have a double opportunity this month.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES For FIRST PAGE PICTURE BOOK CRITIQUES WITH ALLI:

In the subject line, please write “2017 First Page Picture Book Critique” and paste the text in the email, plus attached it as a Word document to the email. Please make sure you include your name, the title of the piece, and confirm it’s a picture book at the top on both the email and the Word document (Make sure you include your name with the title of your book, when you save the first page).

REMEMBER: ATTACH THE WORD DOCUMENT AND NOT GET ELIMINATED!

Your First Page Word document should be formatted using one inch margins and 12 point New Times Roman font – double space – no more than 23 lines – only one page. Send to: kathy(dot)temean(at)gmail(dot)com.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES: Your submission will be passed over if you do not follow the directions for both the pasted email and the attached Word doc. This is where most people mess up.

Please check back next Wednesday.

Talk tomorrow,

Kathy

  1. Hi Kathy! What a wonderful opportunity here 🙂 I’d love to participate, just one quick question–when I click on the link above for the “First pages monthly submission,” I get a “page not found” error. Is there another avenue to get this landing page? Thanks so much! 🙂

    • I have fixed it, somehow it was a WordPress error. I just had to delete it and put it in again. Thanks for pointing that out.
