Call For Manuscripts

Bunny-Dance_art

Diana Delosh’s bunnies are celebrating! Another small publisher is offering writers an opportunity to get published. Diana was featured on Illustrator Saturday August 8th.

Sunbury Press is a rapidly growing publisher of a wide range of categories. We are always seeking new titles to publish including: history, historical fiction, police procedurals, crime thrillers, horror, steam punk, young adult, children’s, current events, science, reference, art history, ANY local/regional history, humor, spiritual/metaphysical, self-help, professional, memoirs, etc. If we didn’t mention your category — try us anyway!

We typically receive approximately 1000 proposals a year, publishing roughly 50 of them (about 5%). We choose to invest in those opportunities that we feel have the best chance in the current marketplace.

If you are interested in seeking an opportunity with Sunbury Press, please fill out the Submission Form.

Please DO NOT MAIL HARD COPY to us. We prefer electronic submissions.

Please do not call us about your proposal. We ask that you please leave our lines open for our ordering customers.

If you have submitted to us and end up going elsewhere, please let us know by withdrawing your submission.

ABOUT OUR PROCESS:

At Sunbury Press, we do not charge authors for services. You cannot pay us to publish your book. Because we make money by selling your books, we only select the books we think will sell in the marketplace. Our publishing process typically takes six months from contract signing. We produce trade paperbacks, hard covers and eBooks in a variety of formats and sizes. Our books are available wherever books are sold in all of the major economies worldwide.

We are currently seeking manuscripts in the following children’s and YA categories: historical, mystery/thriller, detective, fantasy, science, literary, romance, steam punk, urban, dystopian, metaphysical, visionary, history, memoir, true crime, science, self-help, sports, reference, paranormal, pets, biography/autobiography, etc.

Submission Requirements

  1. We are only interested in hearing from you after your manuscript is complete.
  2. Be sure to complete the entire submission form.
  3. Be sure to include your author biography or CV.
  4. At this stage, if YA, please submit at least 3 chapters from your manuscript. Otherwise, submit the complete manuscript.
  5. If illustrations or photos are to be included, please include samples.
  6. We can only accept attachments in the following formats: PDF, Word or ODT.
  7. REMEMBER to follow all form instructions (located next to the entry fields). If instructions are not followed, the proposal will be rejected. PLEASE read and follow ALL instructions.

NOTE: It was just pointed out to me that this publisher is not recommended by Preditors and Editors. If you submitted something and they are interested in your manuscript, please make sure you check them out and ask why they are listed as, “Not recommended.” Preditors and Editors does not list the reason why anyone is put on the “Not Recommend List” but here is the link to see the list of what it could be. I would make sure I found out before doing any business with them.  http://pred-ed.com/perating.ht

Thank you Mary Ann Rosswurm for pointing this out.

Talk tomorrow,

Kathy

  1. Your “expert sites” block on the right sidebar has “School Vist Experts” spelled wrong. It is missing an “i”.

    • Carlie,

      Thanks for pointing that out.
