December Song

by Eileen Spinelli

Sing a song of snowy nights,

of neighbors stringing twinkling lights,

of sugar cookies shaped like stars

and trees tied to the roofs of cars.

Sing a song of spangled Kings,

and angels wearing wire wings,

of paper boxes, silver bows

and gifts hid under attic clothes.

Sing of warm against the cold,

of simple, peace-filled stories told,

of drums that thrum and bells that chime…

sing a song of Christmas time.

Hope you enjoy the day!

Talk tomorrow,
