Need to Know

This funny holiday card was sent in by Barbara DiLorensa. Barbara was featured on Illustrator Saturday April 14th 2012. Here is the link:

Have you written a YA novel? If so, you should check to MAKE SURE YOU ARE LISTED ON THE YALSA’s new Wikimedia page. Many of you are not listed and even though anyone can type in the information, I really don’t have time to do that for you, so I am passing it along to you. Here is the link where you can check: You will have to create an account.

The page collects the names of YA authors and list them by state and outside the USA, for the purpose of helping librarians, library workers and educators to plan author visits and other such programs.  If you know of a YA author who resides in your state (or if you are one!), please add the name of the author and his or her web site information below under the appropriate state.  Please be sure the information you are adding is current and correct.  Authors may have moved!  Do not add personal email or cell phone information.

Talk tomorrow,

  1. Thank you so much for including my silly holiday image! I love your blog so much. Thank you for your continued and consistent effort in making this blog so helpful to the Children’s Literature community. I wish you a wonderful 2014 full of creativity!

  2. Hi Kathy
Barbara your silly card made me laugh. Love the silly, nilly froggie.
Although, I haven’t had any YA novels published, the information is one I’ll keep for future reference.
    Thanks, again.

  3. Hey I recognize that card! So great to see your work here Barbara. Have a wonderful Christmas!

    • Have a wonderful Christmas Adrienne! I wish I could hear you sing-I’m sure you are so busy this time of year! Hugs and scones from all the DiLorenzos.

  4. How funny! What a cute card! Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas!

  5. Adorable illustration, Barbara! Reminds me of that scene in “A Christmas Story” 😀

    • Ha ha! I was thinking of that when I made the image. Thank you so much!

  6. Thanks Kathy. Great info about the YALSA listing. YA authors should invest 15 minutes and update their info.
