Associate Publisher and Managing Editor at Penguin, Steve Meltzer and Agent Sean McCarthy, from Sean McCarthy Literary are spending the weekend at the Spring Lake Writer’s Retreat in March with ten writers. They will do one hour Full Manuscript one-on-one novel critiques or three picture book critiques. We will have two groups this year to keep the amount of prior reading for the group critiques. Last year, Agent Stephen Frazer signed one of our attendees at the retreat (we did not have anyone from a publisher). This year, we are open to including a group of picture book writers to participate in the retreat and to make it fair PB writers will be able to submit up to three manuscripts for critique. There are eight spots available. If you feel getting a lot of personal time with an agent or publisher would help hone your manuscript and possibly open doors for you, please email me to grab a spot. Please include what you write and what genre you plan to submit. Plus, give me a little information about you and your writing experience. See details below.
